Texas CoDA could use your Help!
Help us, Help You by Giving
7th Tradition Contributions to State
Tradition 7: Every CoDA group ought to be fully self-supporting,
declining outside contributions.
State needs your support to help with the efforts of our New Outreach Committee. Our Texas Outreach committee would like to be able to do many new things as well as, improve others. For Example: Under the Outreach committee is the Lone Star CoDA Courier, our State Newsletter , and the New Texas Website. . Both of which need your help with covering costs for such things as publishing, physical mailing's, and Operational Service costs for the Website. The Outreach committee needs funds also to help with the Printing & Distribution of materials designed to help inform people of the availability and purpose behind CoDA 12 Step Meetings. All of which help CoDA as a whole in communications between local groups, and by helping to insure the growth of CoDA as a whole with the establishment of new meetings, versus the closing of available CoDA 12 Step Help Meetings for those in Need Our Traditions tell us that CoDA is fully self-supporting through the contributions of its members. This applies to our local, state and the main service organizations as well as our home groups. In Chapter 4 of the CoDA Blue Book, we read, "One of the ways we celebrate our recovery with other CoDA members is by attending local, state, and main conventions, all of which have been created, facilitated and supported by volunteer members and their contributions."

Your gifts of money, time and talents do other amazing things! Your 7th Tradition contributions sustain our home groups. Your donations help sponsor our annual Texas CoDA State Assembly; As well as our Texas CoDA Spring Board Business Meeting. (which deals with business problems of Budget and Issues the State wishes to take to the Main CoDA Convention) Your gifts also allow us to send two delegates to our Main CoDA Service Conference. Since Texas CoDA pays the travel, lodging and meals for these two delegates, we're honoring the inclusive nature of our recovery program, allowing anyone to serve as a delegate regardless of socio-economic background.

The State Treasury as of (9/15/2004) has $2,430.79, much of which will be depleted by the end of November after the above functions are paid for. Texas CoDA therefore would like to ask for your 7th Tradition Contributions from your Home group or if you so feel the need to give back to your recovery as an individual that too is greatly appreciated. With 7th Tradition Contributions you are insureing the continued existence of Texas CoDA, and the services it provides to help CoDA at a local level, and as a whole. The Original Budget, and the revised budget below demonstrate the need for funds.

Note : If there is more money available in Sept., the Board voted to pay up to $800 for Delegate travel to Conference, if it was needed. The Senior Delegate is Chair of the Convention Committee and her expenses will be paid by CoDA, Inc. this year.
